What is share market
The share market, also known as the stock market, is a marketplace where stocks (also known as shares or equities) of publicly traded companies are bought and sold. When a company wants to raise capital, it can sell shares of its stock to investors in exchange for money. The investors who buy these shares become part owners of the company and are entitled to a portion of the company's profits and may also have a say in the company's decision-making processes.
Stock prices are determined by supply and demand, meaning that the price of a stock will go up if more people want to buy it than sell it, and vice versa. The share market provides a platform for investors to buy and sell stocks and other securities, with the goal of making a profit from the difference between the buying and selling prices.
The share market can be complex and volatile, and requires knowledge and research to make informed investment decisions. Many people invest in the share market through mutual funds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), or through the use of a stockbroker or financial advisor.
